Autism Support for Teens & Young Adults in Louisville, Kentucky

Build skills that are meaningful and useful in everyday life

Autism Support

Autistic teens and young adults often benefit from support that recognizes how their unique strengths, challenges, and ways of experiencing the world affect everyday life. I provide individualized therapy and practical life-skills support tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals.

Areas of support may include

Emotional regulation and coping with overwhelm
Executive functioning, organization, and time management
Communication and interpersonal skills
Navigating friendships and relationships
Self-advocacy and communicating needs
Increasing independence and confidence
Problem-solving and decision-making
Managing transitions and changes
School, college, and work-related challenges
Developing routines and managing daily responsibilities
Understanding emotions and responding effectively to them

The focus is on building skills that are meaningful to the individual and useful in everyday life. Some clients may benefit from targeted weekly support around specific challenges, while others may need more ongoing therapeutic support.

A DBT-informed approach

My background in DBT allows me to incorporate evidence-based skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness when they are helpful, while adapting the approach to the needs of each autistic client.

Support for parents

Parents may also receive guidance and support when appropriate, with the goal of helping the young person develop greater independence while maintaining a supportive environment at home.

Life isn't easy, so learn the skills to handle hard better.
